A Bali overstay costs Rp 1,000,000 a day up to 60 days, then Rp 90,000,000 to lift the entry ban
Past 60 days there is no day rate at all: the sanction is deportation and a ban on entry, and having that ban lifted is a separate line the 2019 schedule did not contain. PP 45/2024 also allows the day charge to be zero for six classes of foreigner, one of them a person who cannot pay.
The number
Item VI.E of the annex to Indonesia's PP 45/2024 prices the revocation of an entry ban at Rp 90,000,000. Indonesia charges Rp 1,000,000 a day for an overstay of up to 60 days; beyond that the sanction is deportation and an entry ban instead. PP 28/2019, the schedule it replaced, priced no revocation at all.

A ban is not a fine, and Indonesian law prices them separately. Point 29 of Article 1 of Law 6 of 2011 defines penangkalan as a prohibition on entering Indonesia on immigration grounds.1JDIH Kementerian Keuangan, Last reviewed The schedule has priced lifting one since PP 45/2024, promulgated on 18 October 2024, took force 60 days later by its Article 13.2Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I Non TPI Yogyakarta, Last reviewed
Article 78 charges a biaya beban on a foreigner who stays “kurang dari” 60 days past a permit’s expiry, and imposes deportation and a ban on one who does not pay and on one who stays “lebih dari” 60 days.1JDIH Kementerian Keuangan, Last reviewed The statute names no figure; it points at a schedule that charges for “tidak lebih dari” sixty, so the sixtieth day is inside the tariff and outside the statute.
Government Regulation 45 of 2024 is that schedule, and our copy is a scan. Item VI.E prices revoking a ban imposed for overstaying “Lebih dari 6O Hari” — a letter O, not a zero — or for not paying the biaya beban, at Rp 90,000,000; its unit column reads only “Per”, and “Overstay” prints as “Ouerstag”.2Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I Non TPI Yogyakarta, Last reviewed
Our copy handles the daily charge worst. Item VI.A.1 charges per day for a foreigner “Tidak L€bih dari 6O Hari”, and its amount extracts as “Rp l.OOO.OOO,OO”.2Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I Non TPI Yogyakarta, Last reviewed We do not read digits off it. PP 28 of 2019, the schedule it repealed, prices the identical item at Rp 1,000,000 per day in clean numerals, with no revocation item.3Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I Non TPI Yogyakarta, Last reviewed The office’s own fee page printed both in digits on 27 September 2026 — Rp 1,000,000 per day, Rp 90,000,000 per application — citing PP 45/2024.5Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I Non TPI Yogyakarta, Last reviewed
PP 45/2024 also provides for that charge to be nothing. Its Article 7 ayat (1) allows it to be Rp 0 for six classes of foreigner — the hospitalised mentally ill, force majeure, deportation, law enforcement, a court judgment, and being in Indonesia and unable to pay — leaving the conditions to a ministerial regulation.2Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I Non TPI Yogyakarta, Last reviewed That regulation exists: Permenimipas 14 of 2025, signed on 17 December 2025, and the ministry publishes four pages of it, none of them the biaya beban chapter.8Kementerian Imigrasi dan Pemasyarakatan Republik Indonesia, Last reviewed Article 8’s general power to zero a charge excludes, by its own words, anything already in Articles 4 to 7.2Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I Non TPI Yogyakarta, Last reviewed That power reaches the Rp 90,000,000, not the day rate.
Is it still the operative schedule? PP 30/2026, in force 30 days after promulgation on 2 July 2026, re-set the Kementerian Hukum’s charges, and its Article 9 revokes five categories of PP 45/2024, none of them immigration.4Justisio, Last reviewed
Does the ban lapse on its own? Article 102 ayat (1) set six months as enacted, extendable by as much again1JDIH Kementerian Keuangan, Last reviewed , and the office repeated that in April 2023, saying the foreigner or their guarantor must ask the enforcement directorate, and naming no fee6Kantor Imigrasi Kelas I Non TPI Yogyakarta, Last reviewed . A bulletin of 21 October 2024 puts the same provision at ten years, extendable by ten more.7Kantor Imigrasi Kelas II Non TPI Banggai, Last reviewed Since December 2025 the procedure has its own regulation, Permenimipas 13 of 2025, whose published copy stops before the articles on duration and revocation.9Kementerian Imigrasi dan Pemasyarakatan Republik Indonesia, Last reviewed We print no current duration.
This is where we may be wrong. The unit is missing from the source: “per application” comes from the office’s fee page, not the regulation — and that page reproduces the annex’s “Ouerstag”, so it is not independent.
Four official portals refused us again on 29 September 2026: peraturan.bpk.go.id and dgip.go.id with a 403, jdih.kemenkum.go.id and peraturan.go.id with no answer. So PP 30/2026 we read in a private salinan, Articles 78 and 102 as enacted in 2011. The third revision we could not open; the bulletin describing it names six of the ten provisions it changed, so we cannot say Article 78 is untouched.
What did answer is the administering ministry’s own site, where both regulations are. Its law database gave us a front page and 429 behind it, so we can tell a reader the waiver exists and not what it requires. A tariff is not evidence of payment either: we found no instance of the Rp 90,000,000 being levied.
Both schedules we read in the Yogyakarta office’s copies, PP 30/2026 in a watermarked salinan, the web pages live on 27 September 2026, the ministerial regulations on 29 September.
